But, being the bookworm I am â€" and one who has spent most of her reading life with books about mental illness â€" I am not satisfied. I want to read books about real people with this affliction I have also dealt with for most of my (reading) life. Here are some of the best books Ive smuggled from my library to try to learn about others experiences and how to cure this so-called incurable disorder. There are lots of books about the psychology of it, and how to be a therapist for patients with it, and how to be a nice parent to a child who pulls out their hair, and workbooks on how you yourself can trick yourself into stopping. Thats not what these are. These are real people telling their stories, with the hope of getting more people to come out and tell their stories, too. Life is Trichy: Memoir of a Mental Health Therapist with a Mental Health Disorder by Lindsey Muller. This is the first memoir I found on trichotillomania. Lindsey was born a perfectionist and spent her childhood picking at her arms and legs. When she got older, she started going after her hair. And it didnt stop. This short book (140ish pages) had me on the edge of my seat and feeling like I was reading my own journals. I had tears in my eyes as I highlighted pages for myself to throw into my commonplace book. Shes also a therapist, so she has some insights on practices to stop, or at the very least, not feel ashamed. Doesnt It Hurt?: Confessions of Compulsive Hair Pullers by  Sandy Rosenblatt (Editor). An excellent collection of essays by a group of diverse people who all have one thing in common. Their stories all follow  the same timeline: No recollection of the first pull, growing up shamefully hiding their heads/eyelids/eyebrows, finding out theyre not alone, finding peace and acceptance with the disorder. As with any essay collection, some really spoke to me. Not only because they were so relatable, but because some really strong and powerful people suffer from this thing, too. It wasnt my favorite, but it was so comforting to find. Its especially great to have it told through the eyes of a teenager, because most sufferers begin as teens. A passage  that resonated with me, and still gives me goosebumps: “When I stared at the mirror and tried to recognize the girl without eyebrows, eyelashes, and bangs as myself and failed, I knew something had gone horribly wrong. It’s hard to recognize yourself when you’ve pulled at your eyebrows so consistently that there is almost nothing left. It’s hard to believe you could have done something so destructive to your face, and that tomorrow you have to go to school pretending nothing is different.” Yeah. That could have been pulled (heh) from my journals. Bonus: I made a list on Goodreads of anything pertaining to trich and other body-focused repetitive behaviors I could find. The most important thing that I think of is my writing and communication skills. Then I entered a class called composition and communication. Coming into this class at first I was nervous because I knew in was going to be heavy loaded in the writing area. Then we wrote are first essay about a musical performance on this essay I focused on my thesis because that was one of my goals going into this class to improve my thesis in my essays. I believe I was successful in my thesis for this paper. Over all I think this paper was my best out of all the essays we wrote for this class. On the next essay I really focused on my writing process I started with an outline then turned that into a pretty sketchy rough draft. I was a little skeptical at first about how it was going to turn out. Usually my rough drafts don’t really change a whole lot but that was not the case for this one. My final draft was a complete change it was like I wrote 2 different essays and picked the best one. I didn’t just change the essay I made it better and it just happened to completely change the essay. I soon realized that this process was a much improvement to my writing style and I decided to try it out on all my essays that I write. Another skill that I was definitely not born with is my ability to speak in front of a group. I will be the first to tell you that I am a horrible speaker. With that said you can probably tell that I don’t have a lot of confidence in my speaking skills. This does not stop me from trying to improve in this area by any means. The first speech we gave in C and C class was quite frankly horrible. After this I decided I will improve little by little in my college career and the first step was to improve on the next speech that we will give in this C and C class. When I found out what are next speech was about I buckled down and came up with a magnificent plan of action. Although it didn’t turn out as well as I had hoped I still believe I took a step in the right direction. There is definitely room for improvement however. All in All I believe that my experience with my composition and communication class was a defendant plus and I think it gave me a great base for what is to come in my higher writing courses. Is tack time acceptable for seat installation (now that proliferation has increased) v. Identify why bolsters are being damaged Until the 5Y analysis is conducted the solutions cannot be defined. Refer to question 1 for further info. 3. Where, if at all, does the current routine for handling defective seats deviate from the principles of the Toy ota Production System? Answer The seat problem is currently not fixed through the standard TPS system via the Jidoka principle. The modified defective seat routine was made an exception to the standard practice of investigating problems on the line, even at the expense of shutting down the line, for three reasons, first, the final assembly people already knew of the problem; second, it was possible to finish building the car without seat assemblies; third, it was felt that stopping the line was too expensive given how long it took to obtain the replacement seat. 4. What is the real problem facing Doug Friesen? I think the real problem is TMM still trying to adjust to the Japanese TPS system. The TPS system took decades for Toyota to implement properly with many refinements over the years. In Japan, both the OEM and the Tier One are considered as part of the same family. This culture is foreign in the United States (as well as Australia). TMC has high demands on the TMM Kentucky team with high rates of finished product.
